About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their busy team in Birmingham . This hybrid role involves coordinating the efficient movement of goods, managing documentation, and ensuring seamless communication between suppliers, carriers, and customers. You will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, ensuring timely deliveries and cost-effective transportation solutions. The ideal candidate is organized, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a collaborative team environment, contributing to the smooth flow of our client's supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, managing all aspects from booking to delivery.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transportation providers to secure competitive rates and ensure service reliability.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
- Track shipments in real-time and proactively communicate any delays or issues to stakeholders.
- Resolve logistical problems, such as transit delays, damages, or customs holds, efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and delivery performance within the logistics management system.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding role.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures, incoterms, and international trade regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office-based and remote responsibilities.
