About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and forward-thinking Logistics Planner to join their team based in Leeds , working on a hybrid model. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and optimizing transportation routes and schedules to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments and external partners to manage the entire logistics process, from planning to execution. This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical individual to contribute to the seamless operation of a complex supply chain and drive efficiency in a dynamic logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transportation plans to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
- Analyze logistics data, including transit times, costs, and carrier performance, to identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with carriers, fleet managers, and drivers to ensure timely and efficient execution of transportation plans.
- Manage exceptions and disruptions to the logistics plan, proactively resolving issues and communicating updates to stakeholders.
- Utilize logistics planning software and tools to model scenarios and forecast transportation needs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Experience in logistics planning , transportation management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with logistics planning software and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, route optimization, and supply chain best practices.
