Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and analytical Logistics Planner to join their team in Leeds . In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for optimizing transportation routes, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods throughout the supply chain. Your analytical skills will be key in forecasting demand, managing resources, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and service improvements. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking and operational execution, working closely with internal departments and external partners to maintain high standards of logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily transportation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with carriers and logistics providers to negotiate rates and ensure service level agreements are met.
• Manage fleet availability and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal operations teams, sales, and external suppliers.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any deviations from the plan, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a similar supply chain role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
