About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Mine Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of their mining operations in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing large-scale mining projects, ensuring optimal production, cost control, and adherence to stringent safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all daily mining operations, including extraction, processing, and logistics, to achieve production targets.
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans, budgets, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of all mining equipment and machinery.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for enhancement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in mine operations management, with a strong understanding of various mining methods.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing large, diverse teams in a mining environment.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to the mining industry.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and cost control.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
