About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Mine Operations Manager to oversee operations at their site near Newcastle upon Tyne . This critical role involves managing all day-to-day activities of the mine, ensuring efficient production, safety compliance, and adherence to environmental standards. You will lead a diverse team of professionals, including geologists, engineers, and site personnel, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of mining processes, making a significant impact on operational success in the Tyne and Wear region.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all aspects of daily mine operations, including production, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement operational plans to achieve production targets within budget.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations for the mining industry.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the mine operations team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and capital expenditure planning to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies in the Newcastle upon Tyne area.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mining operations and achieving production goals.
- In-depth knowledge of mining techniques, equipment, and safety best practices.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
