About the Role
Our client seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Mine Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of daily operations at their significant mining site near Birmingham . This leadership role is critical for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction and processing of resources. You will be responsible for managing a large workforce, optimizing production targets, and upholding the highest standards of operational safety and environmental compliance. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for an experienced mining professional looking to drive operational excellence in the heart of the UK's industrial landscape .
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all day-to-day mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and processing.
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve production targets and improve efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of operational staff, fostering a culture of safety and performance.
- Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of all mining equipment and machinery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management, preferably in a similar commodity.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large operational teams and complex budgets.
- Strong knowledge of mining methods , equipment, and safety procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
