Mine Operations Superintendent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Mine Operations Superintendent to lead their mining operations based in Norwich, Norfolk . This senior role requires strategic leadership and hands-on management to ensure the safe, efficient, and productive operation of the mine. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of underground or surface mining activities, managing a diverse workforce, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in mine management, a commitment to safety excellence, and the ability to foster a high-performance culture within the operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day mining operations, ensuring adherence to production targets and quality standards.
• Implement and enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental protocols across all mining activities.
• Manage and develop the mining workforce, including supervisors, operators, and support staff.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, controlling costs and optimising resource allocation.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and planning departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Drive initiatives for operational efficiency, technological adoption, and best practice implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 7 years in a senior supervisory or management role.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale mining operations, including planning, execution, and control.
• Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and drive operational performance improvements.
