About the Role
Our client is seeking a precise and reliable Mine Surveyor to join their operations team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is critical for accurately measuring and mapping underground and surface mine sites, ensuring that excavations are in the correct position and that all extracted volumes are accurately calculated. You will work closely with engineers and geologists to provide essential spatial data for planning and operational control.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate topographic surveys of surface mining areas and volumetric calculations.
- Perform underground surveys to establish control points, map workings, and monitor stope and roadway positions.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
- Prepare and update mine plans, cross-sections, and other relevant survey drawings.
- Ensure that all surveys are conducted in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
- Collaborate with the engineering and geology teams to provide data for mine planning and resource estimation.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar surveying role within the mining or construction industry.
- Proficiency in using modern surveying instruments and associated data processing software.
- Strong understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and geological plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and reporting.
