About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join their team in Norwich . This role is crucial for developing and executing long-term and short-term mine plans that ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective resource extraction. You will be responsible for designing mine layouts, optimizing production schedules, and managing resource depletion in accordance with geological data and operational constraints within the mining sector . This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and practical knowledge of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed long-term and short-term mine plans, including open-pit or underground designs.
Create production schedules, sequencing, and cut-off grade strategies.
Utilize mine planning software to optimize resource recovery and minimize waste.
Conduct economic evaluations and feasibility studies for mining projects.
Collaborate with geological, operations, and engineering teams to integrate planning requirements.
Monitor mine progress against plans and implement adjustments as needed for the Norwich operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design.
Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, or similar.
Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning skills.
Familiarity with geological modeling and resource estimation principles for mining .
