About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic Mine Planning Engineer to join their team in Milton Keynes . Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine plans, including production schedules, stope designs, and equipment utilization plans.
- Perform mine design and layout using specialized mine planning software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for new mining projects or expansions.
- Collaborate with operations, geology, and survey teams to ensure alignment of plans with ground conditions and objectives.
- Monitor mine performance against plan and implement adjustments as needed.
- Ensure all mine plans comply with regulatory requirements and best practices for safety and environmental stewardship.
Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design, preferably in open-pit or underground mining.
- Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or Surpac.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, economics, and operational constraints.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
