About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to support their operations near Plymouth, Devon . This role is crucial for accurate data collection and spatial management within the mine. You will be responsible for conducting surveys, creating and updating mine plans, and ensuring precise measurements for all mining activities, from exploration drilling to production and closure. This hybrid position allows for fieldwork on-site and data processing/reporting from a remote location, ensuring flexibility while maintaining critical operational accuracy in Plymouth .
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all types of mine surveys, including surface, underground, and stockpile surveys.
- Create, update, and maintain accurate mine plans and digital terrain models.
- Utilize surveying equipment and software (e.g., total stations, GPS, CAD software) for data acquisition and processing.
- Monitor and report on excavation progress, volumes, and compliance with design.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations teams to provide necessary spatial data.
- Ensure adherence to surveying standards, accuracy requirements, and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Qualification or certification in Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar surveying role.
- Proficiency with surveying instruments and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Understanding of mining operations and their spatial requirements.
- Ability to work effectively both on-site and remotely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
