About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Mineral Processing Engineer to oversee operations at their facility near Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for optimizing the extraction and recovery of valuable minerals from raw ore. You will design, implement, and manage processing circuits, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of metallurgy and chemical engineering principles applied to mineral processing, working to enhance recovery rates and product quality within a key industrial hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing plants and circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct metallurgical test work and analysis to improve recovery rates and product quality.
- Troubleshoot processing issues and implement solutions to maintain efficient operations.
- Monitor plant performance against key metrics and prepare operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all processing activities.
- Collaborate with R&D teams on the development of new processing technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy.
- Proven experience with various mineral processing techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of flotation, leaching, and physical separation processes.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
