About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Mineral Processing Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is integral to optimizing the recovery and quality of valuable minerals from raw ore. You will be responsible for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of mineral processing plants, including comminution, flotation, and other separation techniques. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in chemical or metallurgical engineering, with a passion for improving process efficiency and yields in the mining industry. You will play a key role in ensuring the economic viability of extraction processes for operations in Staffordshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to improve recovery rates and product quality.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Develop and implement process control strategies and monitoring systems.
- Prepare process design documents, operational manuals, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with site operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to achieve processing goals.
Requirements
- Degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing operations or design.
- Solid understanding of mineralogy, physical and chemical separation principles.
- Experience with various processing equipment and techniques relevant to the mining industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a plant environment.
