About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Mineral Processing Engineer to join their team in Cambridge . This role focuses on developing and optimizing processes for extracting valuable minerals from ore. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing efficient separation and recovery techniques, managing plant operations, and ensuring product quality meets specifications. Your expertise will be vital in maximizing the value of mined resources and improving the efficiency of their processing facilities in Cambridgeshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale tests to evaluate new processing methods and reagents.
- Troubleshoot processing plant issues and implement solutions to improve recovery and grade.
- Manage plant operations, including production targets, cost control, and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement sustainable processing practices.
- Collaborate with geologists and metallurgists to understand ore characteristics and processing challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mineral processing plant operations or R&D.
- Strong understanding of mineralogy, physical separation processes, and hydrometallurgy/pyrometallurgy.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage plant operations effectively.
