About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to join their innovative team near Southampton . This role focuses on the design, optimization, and operation of processes used to extract valuable minerals from ores. You will be involved in improving recovery rates, reducing operational costs, and ensuring environmental compliance in the processing plants. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of physical and chemical separation techniques and a passion for applying engineering principles to solve complex challenges in the resource extraction industry , contributing to efficient and sustainable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
- Conduct pilot plant testing and scale-up studies for new processing technologies.
- Monitor plant performance, analyze data, and implement process improvements to enhance recovery and reduce costs.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical solutions to processing challenges.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement sustainable processing practices.
- Collaborate with geologists and mining engineers to integrate processing with upstream operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgy.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing operations or design, preferably in base or precious metals.
- Strong knowledge of mineral characterization , liberation, and separation technologies.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
- Familiarity with tailings management and water circuits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
