About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to join their team in Southampton . This role involves optimizing the processes used to extract valuable minerals from ore. You will be responsible for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of comminution, flotation, and other separation circuits, ensuring maximum yield and quality of extracted materials. This position requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, working closely with plant operations and R&D teams to drive innovation and efficiency in mineral extraction, contributing to the vital mining supply chain .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, and flotation.
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale testing to evaluate new processing techniques and reagents.
- Troubleshoot operational issues to improve recovery, grade, and plant throughput.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with metallurgists, chemists, and site operations teams to achieve processing objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing plant operations or design within the mining industry .
- Strong understanding of comminution, solid-liquid separation, and hydrometallurgy principles.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, supporting both plant operations near Southampton and analytical tasks.
