Process Development Engineer - Pharmaceutical

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Development Engineer to contribute to their pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Plymouth . This role is critical for optimizing and scaling up manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant production of pharmaceutical products. You will work on improving existing processes, developing new manufacturing technologies, and troubleshooting production challenges. This hybrid role allows for effective collaboration with teams on-site in Plymouth while also providing flexibility for remote project management and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Conduct process validation studies, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with GMP standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and scale-up.
• Develop process documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and technical reports.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and equipment to improve efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process development or manufacturing engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and scale-up principles.
• Knowledge of GMP, validation, and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical production.
• Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
