About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Coventry , focusing on the critical phase of scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial production. This role involves translating fundamental chemical engineering principles into robust, reliable, and efficient manufacturing processes. You will work in a hybrid model, balancing essential on-site laboratory and plant interactions with remote analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will be pivotal in troubleshooting production issues, optimizing existing processes, and ensuring the seamless integration of new technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute pilot plant trials to validate and optimize chemical processes for scale-up.
- Analyze process data, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to improve yield, quality, and throughput.
- Develop and refine operating procedures for pilot and production equipment.
- Collaborate with R&D chemists and engineers to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues encountered during manufacturing.
- Prepare detailed reports on trial results, process performance, and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and equipment.
- Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separation techniques, and process control.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, both on-site and remotely.
