About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety protocols and risk management within their Oil & Gas operations. This hybrid role, based near Bradford , combines office-based responsibilities with the flexibility of remote work. You will be crucial in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting hazard assessments, and implementing robust safety management systems. This position demands a proactive approach to safety, a thorough understanding of risk analysis, and the ability to foster a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and other risk assessments.
- Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare safety reports and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
- Train personnel on process safety principles and practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, ideally within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g., Seveso III, OSHA PSM).
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies (e.g., LOPA, FMEA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both an office and remote environment.
