About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their fully remote team, focusing on ensuring the highest standards of safety across their Oil & Gas operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards, ensuring compliance with stringent regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization, regardless of geographical location. You will play a vital part in safeguarding assets and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
- Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
- Oversee safety-critical equipment integrity and maintenance programs.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations.
- Provide process safety training and guidance to operational and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
- In-depth knowledge of HAZOP , LOPA, SIL, and other risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with API, OSHA, and other relevant industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, suitable for a remote work environment.
