About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to contribute to their safety-focused operations, working remotely with potential site visits to Leeds, West Yorkshire . This role is vital for ensuring the integrity and safety of process facilities, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of robust safety management systems. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization, making a significant impact on operational risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
- Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Investigate process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Review engineering designs to ensure safety considerations are incorporated.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering within the oil and gas or chemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, HAZOP methodology, and risk assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., OSHA, HSE guidelines).
- Experience with safety-critical equipment and systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
