About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Process Safety Engineer to enhance their safety culture and operational integrity within their facilities in Bradford . This role is central to identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related risks to prevent major accidents and ensure the safety of personnel and the environment. You will conduct rigorous safety studies, develop robust safety procedures, and work closely with operational teams to embed process safety principles into daily activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused engineer to contribute significantly to risk management and uphold the highest safety standards in a key industrial area of West Yorkshire .

Key Responsibilities

Conduct HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), and other process hazard analyses.
Develop and implement Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and verification procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant process safety regulations and industry best practices.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
Review management of change (MOC) requests to ensure safety implications are adequately addressed.
Promote a strong process safety culture through training, communication, and engagement with operational personnel.

Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the chemical, petrochemical, or oil and gas industries.
Proven experience in conducting various process hazard analysis techniques.
In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508/61511).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
