About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Process Safety Engineer to join their operational team based in Coventry . This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of safety across all operations, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of robust safety management systems within the energy sector . You will collaborate closely with site operations, engineering, and management teams to foster a strong safety culture and minimize operational risks. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA studies, to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Investigate process safety incidents, near misses, and deviations, recommending and tracking corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
- Provide technical expertise and training on process safety principles and practices to site personnel.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in process safety engineering, preferably within the energy industry or similar high-hazard environments.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety regulations.
- Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and layers of protection analysis (LOPA).
- Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
