Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their esteemed operations team in Birmingham . Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Process Safety Management (PSM) system.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for engineering and operations personnel.
• Audit safety procedures and systems to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process safety role within the chemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in conducting PHAs and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical safety standards and legislation.
