About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Remote Drilling Engineer to join their globally distributed operations team, supporting projects primarily based in the UK Continental Shelf. This role is crucial for the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will leverage cutting-edge technology and collaborate remotely with onshore and offshore teams. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and design well drilling programs, including casing and cementing strategies, mud programs, and directional surveys.
- Supervise drilling operations remotely, monitoring performance, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct daily drilling performance reviews and issue reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage drilling equipment, services, and contractors to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Ensure all drilling operations adhere to company HSE policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for drilling-related challenges encountered during operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering, with a proven track record in offshore or complex onshore operations.
- Extensive knowledge of drilling fluids, well control principles, and directional drilling techniques.
- Experience with real-time drilling monitoring software and data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations in the oil and gas sector.
