Remote Senior Mining Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Mining Engineer to contribute to their global operations. This position focuses on mine planning, design, and optimization, leveraging your expertise to enhance efficiency and safety across various mining projects worldwide. You will work collaboratively with site-based teams, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance from a remote location. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a substantial impact on mine development and operational strategies without the need for on-site relocation, supporting projects originating from the Reading vicinity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mine plans, including open-pit and underground designs, using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies, economic evaluations, and mine development studies.
• Provide technical expertise and support for mine operations, production planning, and equipment selection.
• Implement and monitor best practices in mine safety, environmental management, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate effectively with geologists, metallurgists, engineers, and management teams remotely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mining engineering , including significant planning and design roles.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
• Demonstrated experience in open-pit and/or underground mining operations.
• Strong understanding of mining economics, geology, and geotechnical principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills suitable for a remote work environment.
