About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leicester . This role is crucial for optimising our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing new chemical processes, as well as improving existing ones. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation in chemical engineering principles coupled with practical, hands-on experience in a relevant industrial setting, contributing to the company's ongoing success and innovation in the chemical sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new chemical processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Analyse and optimise existing manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and pilot plant trials for new process concepts.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety manuals.
- Ensure all processes adhere to stringent quality control standards and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in process design and optimisation within the chemical industry.
- Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools .
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with HAZOP studies and risk assessment methodologies.
