About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to contribute to their operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This position involves leading the development and enhancement of complex chemical processes, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to stringent quality and safety standards. You will play a key role in project execution, from conceptualization through to commissioning, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced chemical process technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, hazard analyses (HAZOP), and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
- Optimize process parameters to enhance yield, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency.
- Oversee process commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in process engineering within the chemical industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in process modeling, simulation, and scale-up.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and relevant UK regulations.
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
