Senior Industrial Engineer - Facilities & Layout

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Industrial Engineer with expertise in facilities planning and layout design to join their team in Bristol . This role is critical for optimizing the physical environment of our manufacturing and distribution operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and space utilization. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing facility layouts that support current and future operational needs. Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize factory and warehouse layouts to improve material flow, reduce travel distances, and enhance productivity.
• Develop 3D models and simulations of proposed facility layouts and material handling systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and project management, during the design and implementation phases.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Evaluate and select appropriate material handling equipment and systems.
• Manage capital projects related to facility modifications and expansions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering , with a strong emphasis on facility layout and design .
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic).
• Strong understanding of material handling principles, ergonomics, and safety standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to visualize and communicate complex spatial concepts effectively.
