Senior Industrial Engineer - Operations

About the Role

Our client seeks a motivated Senior Industrial Engineer to enhance operational efficiency at their facilities in Portsmouth . This role focuses on analysing complex production systems, identifying opportunities for process optimisation, and leading the implementation of lean manufacturing strategies. You will play a key role in driving improvements in productivity, quality, and cost reduction across various operational areas. Working within a hybrid model, you will balance on-site collaboration with remote analysis and project management, contributing to a forward-thinking approach to industrial engineering in a significant coastal industrial region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and redesign of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement and champion lean manufacturing principles, tools, and techniques throughout the organisation.
• Develop and manage process improvement projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain management.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 6 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with a focus on operations and process improvement.
• In-depth knowledge and practical application of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and project management software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid or flexible work environment is advantageous.
