About the Role
Our client, a prestigious engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer specializing in Bridge Design to join their established team in Bradford . This role is central to the design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of vital transportation networks. You will lead design teams, undertake detailed structural analysis, and contribute to the successful execution of major bridge construction and refurbishment projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges, including road, rail, and pedestrian structures, adhering to relevant codes and standards.
- Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications using advanced structural analysis software.
- Conduct site investigations, assess existing structures, and develop repair and strengthening strategies.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technicians, fostering their professional development.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE).
- BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-chartered experience in the structural engineering design of bridges.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil, LUSAS, SAP2000, or similar.
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK national annexes relevant to bridge design.
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
