About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Telecoms Network Engineer to join their established team in Portsmouth . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and optimisation of our client's advanced telecommunications network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy robust telecommunications network solutions, including routing, switching, and security infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues to ensure high availability and optimal user experience.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network upgrades, capacity planning, and the introduction of new technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective long-term solutions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in telecommunications network engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network hardware.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly preferred.
