About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and proactive Sports Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of their sports venues in Derby . This role is critical for ensuring that all facilities are safe, well-maintained, and available for sporting activities and events. You will manage a team responsible for groundskeeping, repairs, and event setup, as well as oversee budgets and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to contribute to the smooth running of key sports infrastructure in the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of sports fields, courts, and associated facilities.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for groundskeeping, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Supervise and lead a team of facility staff, including groundskeepers and maintenance technicians.
- Ensure all facilities meet health, safety, and security standards, implementing necessary protocols.
- Manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and operational supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate facility bookings and support the setup and breakdown for sporting events held in Derby .
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within a sports or leisure environment.
- Strong understanding of groundskeeping, sports turf management, and facility maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets and procurement processes.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to sports facilities.
- A relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Sports Management, or a related field is advantageous.
