About the Role
Our client, a dynamic sports complex in Newcastle upon Tyne , is searching for a proactive and organized Sports Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations of its diverse athletic venues. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all users, from local sports clubs to community events. You will be responsible for managing bookings, coordinating maintenance, supervising staff, and implementing strategies to enhance user experience and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of all sports facilities , including indoor arenas, outdoor pitches, and training areas.
- Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures to ensure user safety and facility integrity.
- Oversee the scheduling and allocation of facility bookings for various sports teams, events, and community groups.
- Manage a team of facility assistants and cleaning staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance, repairs, and specialized cleaning services.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to facility management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in facilities management , preferably within a sports or leisure context.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to sports venues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders.
