About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure at client sites across the region. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of various telecom equipment, providing essential support to our diverse customer base. Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic systems, routers, and switches.
- Perform routine diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve network and equipment faults.
- Respond to emergency service calls to ensure minimal disruption to client operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and on-site personnel.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company procedures during all site visits.
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate inventory of equipment and parts.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role within the telecoms sector.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including mobile networks, broadband, and VoIP.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment for network analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Must possess a valid UK driving license and be willing to travel extensively within the designated region.
