Telecoms Field Service Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their operations based in Birmingham . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. As a key member of the field operations team, you will ensure the seamless delivery of services and contribute to the company's reputation for reliability and efficiency across the West Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test telecommunications equipment, including antennas, routers, and transmission systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults in network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and proactive service upgrades to prevent downtime.
• Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely resolution of technical issues.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including parts used and time spent.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations on site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical role within the telecoms industry.
• Strong understanding of telecom network technologies, including mobile, fixed line, and broadband.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• A valid UK driving license is essential.
