About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecoms Field Service Engineer to provide essential on-site support and maintenance for their communication network infrastructure across the Stoke-on-Trent region. This hands-on role involves installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of telecoms equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and performance for our clients. You will be the face of our client to many customers, requiring excellent technical expertise combined with strong customer service skills. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity and functionality of critical communication systems in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission new telecoms equipment and systems at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for various telecommunication devices and networks.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers on the use and maintenance of installed systems.
- Accurately document all work performed, including service reports, parts used, and time spent.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role within the telecoms industry.
- Strong understanding of telecommunication systems, including copper, fiber optics, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing network hardware, including routers, switches, and modems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanour.
- Must possess a valid UK driving license and be able to work flexibly across the assigned region.
