Telecoms Field Service Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on and customer-focused Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their dedicated team operating in and around Portsmouth . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment at customer sites. You will be responsible for installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance, providing a vital link between the company and its clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in a mobile capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain a variety of telecommunications equipment, including network hardware, routers, and customer premise equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults and issues reported by customers in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and services to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring their satisfaction.
• Accurately document all work performed, including fault logs, service reports, and inventory updates.
• Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures whilst on site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, including networking principles and equipment.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and travel to various client locations.
• A full UK driving license is required for this position.
