About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their team based in Birmingham . This role involves traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment. You will be the frontline support, ensuring that our client's network infrastructure operates seamlessly for their customers across the region. The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-focused, and possesses a strong understanding of telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network equipment.
• Respond to service calls to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to customers.
• Document all service activities, including repairs, installations, and maintenance performed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures while on customer sites.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical role within the telecoms industry.
• Strong understanding of network cabling, fiber optics, and related installation techniques.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in telecommunications systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling.
• Valid UK driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively within the Birmingham area and surrounding regions.
